dUCk Scarves’ Most Expensive Scarf Sold Out In A Jiffy!

Every time Malaysian brand dUCk scarves launch a limited-edition collection; a social media frenzy happens. Two years ago the influential hijab brand made headlines when their RM800 ($194 USD) Swarovski adorned scarf sold out within five minutes.

In 2018, they did it again when hijabistas (hijab+fashionistas) went crazy over their range of silk monogram dUCk scarves priced at RM1000 ($241 USD).

Just when we thought the price tag can’t get any heftier than that, the brand comes out with its most expensive scarf range to date, the Luxe Chiffon Lace Scarf, which sold at a whopping RM2500 ($603 USD) each.

Jaws dropped and gasps were practically heard across social media when many discovered the retail price. In came the mixed reactions, where scarf-wearing fashionistas were divided into two camps. While some were unfathomed by the numbers, others embraced the elegant design that is believed to be handcrafted with over 1,300 Austrian-made Xirius Rose Swarovski crystals.

 

Impressively, 4 colours sold out online almost immediately on the day of its launch as early as 7.3AM, as shared by dUCk’s co-founder Vivy Yusof in an Instagram post. But a recent update from @theduckgroup’s Instagram page saw news that all colours had sold out online!

Despite causing a stir on social media each time they launch something new (and expensive), the brand experiences a strong sell-out, which means that’s marketing done right.
