Behold, lovers of sweet treats! A festival dedicated to delectable desserts called the London Dessert Festival will be making its debut this August.
No ordinary food festival, the event offers experiential spaces and scented themed rooms in an immersive two-day event at The Truman Brewery.
Journey through four main immersive zones; chocolate, patisserie, frozen as well as the vegan zone where you can find candyfloss clouds, ice lolly wall, sprinkle-filled pool, ice-cream flavour bubbles and more! Oh boy, we’re getting sugar high already.
Besides that, visitors will be able to try a range of creative desserts within the zones, and take part in workshops as well as watch live demonstrations from some of London’s top executive pastry chefs including Helen Clark of P.F Chang’s, Nicolas Rouzaud from The Connaught Hotel and Great British Bake Off Contestant Dan Beasley-Harling.
Don’t know what to expect from each dessert zone? Let us table it out for you.
According to The Resident, visitors will feel as though they are walking into candy land as there will be a huge doughnut wall, a colourful overhead display of pinata baked goods and baking utensils scented with cinnamon and cookie dough adorning the space.
Imagine a wall made of ice lollies and a ceiling of raining sprinkles! This section will be decked out with vibrant vinyl’s and dashes of sprinkles as it pays homage to everyone’s favourite ice-cold treats. Also, look out for nitrogen ice-cream in unique flavours, and a dedicated topping station!
Here is where you can live your dreams of walking through the chocolate factory of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory because you’ll literally find a giant melting chocolate wall! A silver foil installation will be overhead to reflect the unwrapping of chocolate and there will be a complete foil chocolate wrapping room covered in the shiny material. Plus, this is your chance to catch new creations by four chocolatiers.
The vegan zone is a garden setting that serves only vegan delights! Expect plenty of lush greenery to reflect the theme of dairy-free deliciousness.
All that and more desserts will be available to try in the Festival Village.
The London Dessert Festival takes place on the weekend of 17-18 August at The Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, Spitalfields E1 6QR. Ticket prices start from £21.95. Visit londondessertfestival.com for more information.
